Writing and Editing Services
Make your content great.
Let's collaborate in the creation of compelling narratives.
As a passionate editor, my purpose is to elevate your voice, vision, and implementation in pursuit of your writing goals.
As an emphatic writer, my purpose is to construct content that is elegantly potent (clear, concise, and customer-centric).
Expertise
I deliver the highest value in areas where deep exploration of the written medium is crucial for conveying the significance of the content:
- Technical content: hard science fiction, software/programming documentation, white papers, philosophical fiction (within philosophy, I prefer cosmology, epistemology, logic, metaphysics, ontology, pedagogy, and philosophy of mind).
- Creative content: literary fiction, experimental writing, poetry/lyrics.
These domains are showcased in my self-published book, The Importance of Existence (the eBook is free to read online and free to download).
I was a corporate technical writer and editor for several years before making the switch to independent work. With a background spanning science, philosophy, programming, art, and music, my biggest strength is the ability to condense information into evocative nuggets of thought.

Process Overview
I work on a first-come, first-served basis (prioritizing projects by their contract dates).
These are the steps I'll walk you through as we work together:
1.1 — Submit work request: Whether you're a new or returning client, fill out one of the request forms below to start working on a new project with me. For additional asks on existing projects, simply email me.
1.2 — Request review: I take a look at the project and do my best to get back to you within one week. If I feel like I'm a good fit, I provide the following to you:
- Work sample for your project (editing/writing/audio/etc.).
- Project proposal (cost estimate with a breakdown of my work recommendations).
- Timeline of when I expect to work on your project (based on my current workload).
- Example contract.
1.3 — Negotiate project scope: You review the sample and project proposal. If you're still interested in collaborating, then we outline the scope of my role in the project to make sure we're both comfortable with the work to be done.
2.1 — Communication: Whenever I finish another client's project, I'll update you so that you know about how far out your project is. When I'm getting close to being able to work on your project, I reach out to you to confirm your continued interest in working together. If you're not quite ready, we can push you back a priority slot.
2.2 — Sign contract: I draw up a contract that we both sign to ensure clear expectations for the project.
2.3 — Deposit fee: I send you an invoice to collect a deposit fee equal to 25% of the estimated project cost. The deposit fee is applied toward your overall project invoice. If you need to cancel, your deposit will be forfeited (firstly applying toward any of the work that I've already done for you up to the time of cancellation).
3.1 — Receive project: You send me your project files. Once received, I'll set off on the project.
3.2 — Work hours: I schedule up to 30 hours a week for my services, but I occasionally have availability to work more to fulfill rush orders.
3.3 — Communication: As I work, I'll reach out if I have any questions and I'll keep you updated on the project's progress.
4.1 — Invoice: I'll send you an invoice for the services every month or at the end of the project (whichever is shorter).
4.2 — Deliver work: Once the payment has gone through, I'll transfer the work to you. Note: for some types of projects, the work will be transferred on an ongoing basis regardless of payment timing.
4.3 — Additional work: I work an hourly rate so that we both value my time appropriately. One of the many benefits is that it's very easy for you to reach back out to me for minor work that you need done on the same project (without you needing to open a complete new project request).
